COVID-19 affects people of all age groups. It is one of the most dangerous unattended diseases to have affected the world. Statistics show that older people of age more than 60; and those with rudimentary medical conditions such as heart-related disorders, diabetes, asthma, and cancer. People must stay safe and sound. Medical organizations have enlightened the need for aid and group support to ensure that people are protected from the deadly disease without being denounced. They have also insisted on delivering them essential items in addition to care and affection.

Coronavirus symptoms

COVID-19 can either be symptomatic or asymptomatic in people. It affects the respiratory system of a person. The high-risk groups include 60+ aged people and those already suffering from diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, etc.

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, dry cough, anxiety, tiredness. Major symptoms of COVID-19 include difficulty in breathing, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and sore throat, etc.

The deadly virus has affected approximately 11.4 million people worldwide, out of which 6.16 million have recovered. The number of deaths has surpassed 534 thousand. The USA is reported to have the highest number of coronavirus cases, which is 2.93 million, out of which 132 thousand people have died, and 879 thousand have recovered.

Coronavirus treatment

The treatment of coronavirus is unknown until now. There is also no vaccine developed for this infection. If you feel symptoms like high fever, severe body pain, common cold, etc., then immediately attain medical assistance. It is not yet confirmed whether anti-malarial drugs can be used to treat coronavirus, so avoid taking any medicine without consulting them. The oxygen therapy is by far the most successful treatment for coronavirus infection till now. If you have mild symptoms, then the doctors will suggest your isolation and instruct that you need to medicate, prevent the spread of disease, etc. The combination of drugs and other necessities suggested are as follows:

  • Pain killers like ibuprofen

  • Cough syrup for sore throat

  • Complete rest

  • More intake of fluid

Coronavirus effects

The coronavirus has had a blitzkrieg attack on the US. The country has gone into recession, and the economy is degrading gradually.

  • The US country healthcare department announces that there must be no gathering of more than 50 people in a place.

  • Strict actions are taken against people who are not following the rules of curfew and lockdown.

  • In the majority of places, people above the age of 65 are advised to stay in homes.

  • The business companies have been strictly notified to shut down and let the employees work from their homes.

  • The US Government has restricted traveling from one country to another. All international flights have been canceled.

  • People have to maintain social distancing.

  • The needy are getting food and shelters by the government or private assistance.

Coronavirus transmission

The coronavirus infection is a respiratory ailment. It is transmitting through droplets produced by sneezing or coughing. When a person comes within a 1-meter distance with the infected person, then the chances of viral transmission are high. The usual symptoms of coronavirus infection comprise of common cold, cough, headache, and sore throat. The transmission is the same as that of common cold, proving that it is not an airborne infection but a droplet infection.


The infected person should wear a mask and must not go outside the home. He/she should be in quarantine without coming in contact with anyone.

People who are more prone to coronavirus

  • According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 85% of the coronavirus cases are from the old and adult population aged between 30-80 years. The old people are more prone to deaths, whereas younger people are recovering slowly. The occurrence of the disease in people aged under 20 is very less due to strong immunity. There are very few cases of coronavirus from the age group 10-19 years.

  • Studies currently say that men are more susceptible to coronavirus infection as compared to women. It may be possible due to a higher percentage of men going outside for work than women, so the chances of associating with infected people will be excessive.

  • People already suffering from some serious illnesses like cardiovascular disease or diabetes are more prone to COVID-19. The immunity of the person is already affected as compared to a healthy person. A person without any previous infection history can cope with the coronavirus infection more easily than an unhealthy person.

Several precautions are needed to be undertaken. The spread of infection can be prevented by washing hands every 20 minutes, using alcohol-based sanitizer, and avoiding crowded places, etc. Till now, no vaccines or medicines have been invented to suppress the symptoms and nullify the effect of the coronavirus.
